The robe is pale yellow color with green reflections. The nose is expressive with ripe fruits, citrus and peach. The palate is dry, fruity, typical of Bordeaux entre-deux-mers, hard to resist. Have it on its own for aperitif, with oysters, smoked salmon, seafood platters, summer salads, seafood pastas or risottos.

Chateau Palene is situated in the small village of Ladaux, in the heart of the Entre Deux Mers region of Bordeaux, 20 miles South East of Bordeaux. The Maubrac Guerin Estate spans over 50 hectares of vines which they have had for more than a century. One of the oldest Bordeaux estate run today by the family 4th generation of winemakers.
The Vineyard is comprised of 40 hectares of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, and 15 hectares dedicated to white varietals such as Semillon 50%, Sauvignon Blanc 30%, and Muscadelle 20%.
The landscape is mostly fertile and green, rolling gently between 33 and 330ft (10–100m) above sea level. The vineyard is planted on sand, lime clay hills that have great East-West exposures at a density of 3000 to 4000 vines stock per hectare. The average vine age is 20 years. The average yield is 65Hl/Ha and the annual production is approx. 600Hl for the white and 2400Hl for the red.
Here the white wines are meticulously harvested in the early morning, destemmed, followed by skin contact and fermentation at cool temperatures and some aging on the lees in stainless steel or cement vats. The resulting wine is very brisk, racy, fruity and hard to resist!
While the Chateau Palene Red features a diverse range of aromas favoring the expressions of fruit with fresh and delicate aromas. The palate has a round structure with soft tannins. It is elegant, supple, balanced, and harmonious. Perfect with red meats and cheeses.
